Summer Solstice Festival

Free, festive fun for kids of all ages!

On June 27, 2020, Friends of Park Lake will host the sixth annual Summer Solstice Festival on Park Lake and in Wiswasser Park (across the road from Park Lake) to celebrate the return of summer and our wonderful lake. This is a free, fun family event supported by our community sponsors and partners. Check out our roster below for free, festive events for kids of all ages!

At Rickard Boat Launch on Park Lake

4:00 to 7:00 pm

  • Big Net Casting: Individuals and families working together with MSU Fisheries to cast a BIG net into the lake, pull it up and discover what lies underneath the water

Summit Sports Kayak and Paddleboard Demonstrations: Free demonstrations of popular small watercraft (ages 16 and up)

At Park Lake Beach

4:00 – 7:00 pm (check times for each event below)

First Annual Cardboard Boat Building Competition and Race

  • 5:30 – 7:00 Registration at the Gazebo at Park Lake Beach
  • 7:00 pm: Cardboard boat race (watch Bath Police challenge East Lansing Police in this inaugural event!)

BBQ Dinner

Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs grilled by Bath Lions Club, served with chips and a drink for $5.00
